Creating encrypted archives

With Archiver you can prevent others from opening your archives by encrypting them and securing them with a password.

To create an encrypted archive:

Drag in the files you want to archive.

Click create

From the format list choose either zip or 7z (see below if you are unsure which to use).

Type the filename of your archive in the Archive Name box.

Select “Encrypt”.

Enter your password twice.

Click Finish.

Choosing “7z” from the Archive pop-up menu offers better protection through stronger encryption, while “zip” is easier to open on other platforms.
